I am reminded of the stay-home Repulicans who walked away from Missouri Senator Jim Talent. They gave us Claire McCackle because, in their eyes, Jim wasn’t conservative enough.
I remember the Talent-McCaskill election too. Those who stayed home so that McCaskill could win did alot of damage to all of us. When given a choice of voting for someone who would be with us 80% of the time, they allowed someone who would be with us 0% of the time to take office. What stupidity. No wonder we are losing this war.
Purists are just as culpable as liberals for placing this bozo we have in office. While their intentions are good they cannot see past their own selfish interests (purity of the virgin Mary variety). They have not come to realize that while Reagan type cantidate would be a god send to have in office it will never happen again. Our electorate has shifted so gregreatthat the days of hoping and praying for Reagan are over. I think the last 26 years of election cycles have shown us this trend.
