Ebola threat: Our military must be on front line of US fight, not on the sidelines
Fox News ^ | Oct 17th, 2014 | By Van Hipp

As Americans grow increasingly concerned about Ebola both here and around the world, I’ve been speaking with respected doctors who have spent most of their lives working for our government.

The concern they have about the Ebola threat to the American people is very real.

They have spent their lives making sure America has the right systems and technologies in place to prevent potentially catastrophic medical events, such as hemorrhagic fevers.

These doctors are not alarmists; they are patriots who have dedicated most of their lives to making sure that our nation was adequately prepared for an event such as this.

Why do so many think that you attack those who have an opinion different from your own?

Why do you keep wanting to be so personal, seriously, do you have something to say about the topic?

Actually, it doesn’t matter if opinions are offered. You gravitate to them, attack them, and then attack the poster of them.

No, we do not know what the mission is.

Various administration hacks have posed differing opinions, and have clearly stated that the troops will be caring for infected individuals.

The boilerplate that the Pentagon issues has been known to be bovine excrement for the entire time that Obingo has been in office.

Why did you jump in the thread? (we know)

Even if it is true that the containment and treatment of non-manufactured plague is a proper mission for our military, I question Obama's motives when he sends them into the Ebola zone because he has shown no genuine seriousness in containing and treating the disease right here at home.

I get it, and its a good point.

AMEN. I’m not saying don’t help. I don’t think our troops need to be there on the ground in country.

anse112 you have Trolled for several years in this exact same manner and it’s getting real old. This time you took it to a higher level than your usual nonsense by calling a poster a liar because he disagrees with you it seems.

I agree. 4000 troops and then the national guard!??***X#

They’re crazy. And they’re going to succeed in sending diseased troops back home....in air care jets or in body bags.

The first rule of dealing with a contaminated zone in Army field manuals is AVOIDANCE.

Actually we know what the mission is.

We know the missions is to build 17 treatment centers with 100 beds each, a 25 bed hospital for the health workers, and to train 500 health worker assistants per week, and to handle logistics and supplies.

I like Ansell and sometimes agree with him.

But I have long been a staunch supporter of Jim's admonition that personal attacks...will not be tolerated.

Stop that sh!t.

Ansell, you have a mind, why go to the base?

We had gigantic fights in the olden days on this site, but we tried to keep it civil.

Don't get me wrong, ther were times when I screwed up. Big.

But I always came back to the principal that a fellow Freeper is AT LEAST thinking about SOMETHING.

No, it isn’t trolling, there are a few people who get incredibly angry when facts show up.

There are some posters that just want to rage and they can get annoyed if reality and facts interfere with that feed fest, then they go personal.

Now the thread is getting to sound like a group of high school girls rather that a thread about this article from Fox news.

Remember the article? “Ebola threat: Our military must be on front line of US fight, not on the sidelines”

Thanks, Mariner.

I have my doubts whether a boots-on-the-ground intervention in an ebola contamination zone is an acceptable solution. Neighboring countries seem (so far) to be having success with strict quarantine. Outbreaks in the past often have been stopped primarily by the communities of those infected changing behaviors or processes that were detrimental.

The Army is already talking about how it will process its troops who become infected? Why is that when they seem to be reassuring everyone that the troops won’t be in contact with patients?

Answer: because they’ll be in contact with the population, and in the population are many who are at various stages of ebola who don’t yet know it, and there are even those with ebola who simply can’t find a hospital bed.

Somehow in Gulf War One our NG's have become world wide 911 forces. This is being done as a pathetic means to cover the lack of active duty End Troop Strengths. NG's are part of many states Emergency Management System. This policy is placing a strain on the NG service as well as private sector who has to adjust to the deployments.

They’re crazy. And they’re going to succeed in sending diseased troops back home....in air care jets or in body bags.

Our causalities won't be coming home in body bags. They'll be in very small containers with their ashes inside. Protocol here in the states is cremation of deceased with Ebola it seems.

The first rule of dealing with a contaminated zone in Army field manuals is AVOIDANCE.

Yeap and Obama is not only going to expose our troops but will continue to allow ones in the U.S. from those nations. We need to close borders with them until it is contained in their own countries.

Sadly, it would be sane to cremate the remains of one of our ebola-infected heroes sent recklessly into the middle of an ebola contamination zone by our very own American Nero, who golfs while troops burn.

I suggest Mods check your post the past couple of days on other threads as well against other posters and see just who’s doing what.

Yeah I know. Cremation would be a must. I don’t trust this administration, the Sec of Def, even the Branch Secs, at this point. The CDC either needs a good cleaning or shuttered as well.

I suggest that they look at your first post on this thread, post 52, and tighten up on stalking and people dragging grudges across threads.

And how easy would it be for an anti-American usurper in chief to hand pick newly infected U.S. troops in Liberia and order them home to spread ebola on the military bases?

Tell you what then let’s let the MODS have a look. If I was wrong they can ban me or put me in suspended for a time. If you are found wrong are you man enough to say the same to apply for you? I spoke up because you were calling a preacher and respected poster a liar and as long as I’ve been in here I’ve not known him to do or be so.

Amen...When a long time FReeper is being called a liar by ansel on many threads I have to reconsider my opinion of ansel.

It's uncalled for.
