The best squirrel dish I ever had was something called “Squirrel Meryl”.
It was a stew that you had to spit small bones out of while you ate it,
but it was a lot bettern’ just plain roasted squirrel.
Eating odent is not on my bucket list.

My paw-in-law (may he RIP), a share-cropper raised during the depression,
could wax eloquently about the difference in how to cook,
and the taste between, robins and crows.
Unless it’s a SHTF Apocalypse, and all my food & water stores (14mos) are gone, I’ll pass on squirrel. Lotta work for not much eating.
