Who Do They Think We Are? The administration's Ebola evasions reveal disdain for American people
The Wall Street Journal ^ | Oct 16, 2014 | Peggy Noonan

The administration’s handling of the Ebola crisis continues to be marked by double talk, runaround and gobbledygook. And its logic is worse than its language. In many of its actions, especially its public pronouncements, the government is functioning not as a soother of public anxiety but the cause of it.

[SNIP]

It is my impression that everyone who speaks for the government on this issue has been instructed to imagine his audience as anxious children. It feels like how the pediatrician talks to the child, not the parents. It’s as if they’ve been told: “Talk, talk, talk, but don’t say anything. Clarity is the enemy.”

The language of government now is word-spew.

Obama and his crew think we are all racist illiterate morons. They think that if they institute a travel ban, we will go back to downloading celebrity selfies and playing fantasy football, and nobody will support efforts to stop Ebola in Africa.

The only way we will care about Ebola in Africa is if we think it might come to our own redneck racist town in Flyover Country. So they have to keep the flights going. If a few of us snaggletoothed racist morons have to die, they’re OK with that.

I really wish I could read the full article. Haven’t had a subscription to the WSJ in several years, so I can only read the free ones.

Thursday while President Barack Obama addressed the latest developments on the two health care workers who have contracted Ebola from their patient the late Thomas Eric Duncan he said he has no "philosophical objection necessarily to a travel ban," but added he is listening to experts who are advising him against it.

He could just as easily be listening to experts who advise for it. Namely, the experts in the adjoining countries who have SUCCESSFULLY kept the virus out of their countries. They have had practical experience with keeping the virus out.

Instead, the President is going against the wishes of the people and listening to his political advisors. They know that if he bans travel, he must also close the borders in order to protect Americans.

I wonder if Peggy regrets voting for Obola now?

"Obama is a friggin’ madman. If the acceleration o..."

This is unfair to madmen.

Obama is a traitor who spawned ISIS, narcoterrorists
economy collapse, and EV-68 and Ebola pandemics
and all that without one (1) piece of documentation.

A snip from the article:

It is one thing that Dr. Frieden, and those who are presumably making the big decisions, have been so far incapable of making a believable and compelling case for not instituting a ban. A separate issue is how poor a decision it is. To call it childish would be unfair to children. In fact, if you had a group of 11-year-olds, they would surely have a superior answer to the question: “Sick people are coming through the door of the house, and we are not sure how to make them well. Meanwhile they are starting to make us sick, too. What is the first thing to do?”

The children would reply: “Close the door.” One would add: “Just for a while, while you figure out how to treat everyone getting sick.” Another might say: “And keep going outside the door in protective clothing with medical help.” Eleven-year-olds would get this one right without a lot of struggle.

That sounds like a comment that would look good on a demonstrator's sign.
