A University of Texas professor said Friday that she was "disgusted" on an American Airlines flight as the crew, fearing the spread of Ebola, kept a woman who had vomited shut in the plane's bathroom.
"I was outraged by what I saw," said Martha Selby, who is the head of the Austin university's Asian Studies Department.
Selby was on Flight 2325 Thursday evening from Dallas-Fort Worth to Chicago as she made her way to an academic conference.
"She was making her way to the bathroom and vomited in the aisle," Selby recalled. "The flight attendants, I think, over-reacted completely. It was just crazy."

Selby said she understands health concerns, but believes the incident amounted to racial profiling - the woman was black - and a violation of the woman's civil rights.
"If I had puked on the plane, would they have they done that to me? I'm a 60-year-old white woman with gray hair. No, they would not have," she said, noting that fellow passengers shared her concerns about race playing a role in the incident.......

There’s always the emergency exit.
Got to put whitey in charge of the Asian studies....eh? (liberal mode)
Ebola Parks?
LOL! Actually, you might not be far off. In “Hot Zone” one of the things mentioned is how some of the hospitalized patients cannot be restrained and rush to escape from the hospital. In the book, it was indicated that this might be a mental disorder caused by the disease, or just an indication of sanity - seeing all those other patients dissolving or exploding on their cots triggers an urge for self-preservation.
Modern passenger plane doors never could be opened in flight because that's the way they are designed. After DB Cooper, it was the stairway in the rear that could no longer be opened during flight.
Somewhat related - ya gotta know that every finger at Carnival Cruise Lines is firmly crossed, praying that another mass-Norovirus event doesn't take place on that liner...talk about a Chinese Firedrill if a couple of thousand passenger develop the Hershey squirts.
‘Another point to be made is that the toilet is probably under negative pressure with a significant exhaust fan. Another reason this was a good call.”
Great point! Too bad the white lady was too stupid to understand
here is the email address of AA
I know they will get a ton of racism complaints.
We should tell AA thank you
Thanks for the ping to the Ebola vomiting scare at the Pentagon. They should have taken this person to NIH instead of a local hospital.
been laughin for ever...sides still hurt
thumbs high !
Well we can definitely break out the popcorn and wait.
One of the hints/complaints etc (hard to keep up) from officialdom is that when a patient showing the symptoms shows up at a Hospital they should be asked if they visited Africa recently.
Actually, a logical question.
However, since it is RACIST to ask for an ID at a voting booth, what will the reaction be when a Black is asked if he is just returning from Africa (Picture J Seinfeld asking the agitated mailman where the nearest Chinese Restaurant is - he flies off the handle because he is Chinese)
Boy, the Jackie Chiles and Lawyer Calhouns of the world are surely going to be busy.
Even Johnny Cochran will be trying to get a piece of those Racists Whities that dare ask a Black person if they visited Africa recently........
And the beat goes on.....
One could only imagine the reaction if this Ebola were a product of the British Isles OR, even worse Israel.
If it was from Israel, the idiots in charge would be planning to nuke Israel to rid the world of the ‘disease’.
“We” are so afraid of being dubbed ‘Racist’ that we will allow an exodus of infected or possibly infected people to come here while COUNTRIES in Africa are closing their borders and ‘provinces(?) within those countries are not letting people from infected provinces in.
Anyone running for office only need stand on his soapbox and show how the rest of the world is handling this situation AND throw in the Mexican ‘standards’ for refugees coming from the South.
Even Belize(?) turned away a Cruise Ship with its 5000 crew & passengers because the ‘Lab Tech’ isn’t feeling right.
Now that is a chunk out of Belize’s economy....
Yet we say ‘Come on Down’.
Madness......
Who cares. I have a rule myself.
I never pay attention to old dried up white wommens who could never catch ObolaBama via sex because they will never have sex again and have not for the last several decades.
Hillary, Pelosi, Boxer and the list goes on. We have WAY to many women who are basically pissed off because they excrete sand out of their nether area. The ONLY thing they have left that gets them off is POWER over others.
Prove me wrong...
And smart cause he’s a Jew...
Sounds like some one with AA is showing some real common sense and creativity....should have put the left college prof in with her!!!
“Which would you rather be, stuck on a small boat at sea or closed up in an airline lavatory for the duration of a flight?”
I believe personally I’d rather be on a small boat in the ocean, but under the circumstance being stuck in the lavatory would be more conveiant for me and also better for the other passengers, I wouldn’t complain.
And scare the sheeple?
What do that Cracker witch be knowing about yellow folks?
No, tight. /s
A man saying he was a retired airline captain called Phil Valentine’s radio show yesterday. He said if a passenger vomits on a plane, this is exactly what should be done.
Maybe the captain of this flight was listening to the show yesterday.
The source of this thread:
Houston Chronicle news article title has been changed to:
“Airline: Ebola not a concern as sick passenger was kept in lavatory”
That’s weird.... They don’t want travelers choosing American for protection of passengers?
The RATS have pestilized Houston politics... hopefully a bunch of local RATS will be sent packing in November.
