Until they’re shaken out of their cocky, purely political overconfidence, and I’m talking the CDC and the entire unelected bureaucracy as well as the White House, all anyone will get is the political answer to any question. It’s as if they actually believe infectious disease is completely under the control of politicians, bureaucrats and press releases.

I suppose I shouldn’t be surprised, with a population at a high risk of AIDS being taken seriously in demanding the “right” to donate blood. I guess it was bound to come to this at some point.

Ebola is causing problems with at least two sacred cows politically and they’re going to have to be dragged kicking and screaming into some semblance of physical reality.

Most of the time what these people do has little to do with the real world. Every once and awhile the real world intrudes into their world and challenges them with real problems that have real consequences. Talk and theory don't matter regardless of how educated or brilliant they think they are. Results matter and can't be faked or talked into oblivion.
