I believe that two forms are created. One to distract and occupy the immune system while the other does the dirty work.
The description of the glycoprotein intrigued me because I have read of the harm that glycation does. Glycation is not the same as glycosylation. Glycation is
Bonding with yet other protein molecules can occur leading to advanced glycation endproducts (AGEs). There the immune system regards these glycated proteins as foreign and develops antibodies against them and can result in a defective immune system directing antibodies against the host's own tissues. It is thought to be the cause of autoimmune disorders.
The point is: the ebola virus is bad but like all others operates within the confines of biochemistry. It will be defeated. But in the meantime . . . .
(We put men on the Moon in relative short order. We can defeat Ebola and other hemorrhagic diseases.)
There are probably a lot of people who were inclined to bag domestic air travel before this, let alone after.

This just in about the “Ebola” plane...
The airline is reaching out to customers via e-mail, Frontier spokesman Todd Lehmacher confirmed. The contents of the e-mail are not yet known.
The plane flew five flights on Tuesday, prior to the announcement that Vinson had tested positive for Ebola:
Flight 2042, Dallas to Cleveland
Flight 1104, Cleveland to Fort Lauderdale
Flight 1105, Fort Lauderdale to Cleveland
Flight 1101, Cleveland to Atlanta
Flight 1100, Atlanta to Cleveland
On Wednesday, the plane was flown without passengers from Cleveland to Denver. It landed at Denver International Airport around 7 p.m. and was taken to a hangar, where the airline says it will undergo another cleaning including replacement of seat covers and carpet in the vicinity of the passenger’s seat and changing environmental filters.
As a further precaution, two pilots and four flight attendants have been placed on 21-day paid leave, Frontier said.

Post to me or FReep mail to be on/off the Bring Out Your Dead ping list.
The purpose of the Bring Out Your Dead ping list (formerly the Ebola ping list) is very early warning of emerging pandemics, as such it has a high false positive rate.
So far the false positive rate is 100%.
At some point we may well have a high mortality pandemic, and likely as not the Bring Out Your Dead threads will miss the beginning entirely.
*sigh* Such is life, and death...
