There are reports of dogs feasting on dead bodies. Evidently they can carry the disease and not get sick. They are helping it to spread there.

Not so, from what I’ve read. August headlines had dogs eating infected bodies. Worse still, dogs are carriers of the disease, but don’t suffer symptoms. Thus, exterminating the canine population may be a real possibility to be considered, if it turns out that dog saliva can infect humans (as yet unknown).
