I’m so annoyed by the 2nd nurse’s behavior I don’t care what happens to her.

Sorry.

how is the DBM able to get this Hippa protected information....and as a nurse, nobody that I know of ever, ever charts that they are wearing isolation garb...its a given....it leads me to believe that these nurses thought they had to protect themselves legally as well as physically from this patient and the risk of spreading disease....

as sick as the africaner got, the nurses would have to be in that room very very frequently...and spend considerably time....

So sad....in looking at the cdc website and hearing some reports on what their PPE is supposed to be it seems very inadequate....in some of what I read the only thing on their head is a mask and face shield. They need TOTAL head cover...if the other had projectile vomit/diarrhea then, sorry to be gross, if has the possibility of getting into the hair and under the face shield.
Also IMHO the hospitals need to send the pts out, once diagnosed, to central locations. Hospitals in rural communities can’t handle the strict precautions and if a breach has the possibility to occur it happens in fewer sites rather than multiple smaller sites.

A face shield, double gown and protective footwear isn’t going to do squat with this virus. That adds more proof to the nurses who are complaining they didn’t have the proper equipment or training.

Do you notice anything wrong in this picture of the second nurse being transported to Emory?
