Some of the best hiking we do in the mountains is along the fire roads - roads carved out as firebreaks and access for firefighters to the deadly wildfires we get around here.
The county can come around and demand that we keep a firebreak around our property - and that’s what THEY call it - either we do it or they’ll charge us $800 to do it for us. The fire line protects our home from being burned up.
Good thing this Freidan is not in charge of firefighting in California, the entire state would have burned up by now.
