He knows that is dangerously inadequate protection. When he was in West Africa recently, visiting clinics with an MSF presence, he was in head-to-toe PPE with absolutely no skin or hair exposed and doused repeatedly with chlorine—including the bottoms of his shoes.
If those shoes are tracking through body fluids or exposed to body fluids, and those shoes leave the isolation room, there is a danger that the HCW could become contaminated when touching their shoes. Same goes with uncovered hair. His guidelines are dangerous. And we are seeing that unfold right now, with this latest infection. Sadly, I doubt this is the last of the HCWs being infected in Dallas.

We need to quit calling it the Ebola epidemic or the HN whatever the hell it is killing kids all over America, and start calling with EVERY thread, political speech and news article “The Democrats Biological Warfare on America”. Please help.
The CDC has an excuse on their website that the reason they use the full gear in West Africa is because the conditions are so much worse (less clean, going from one ebola patient to another, etc.) than in US hospitals.
Either Frieden is in denial or he is one extremely stupid man. Either way, you are right, these guidelines for health workers in the US are dangerous.
