A local clinic and state officials are evaluating whether a patient who had recently traveled to West Africa and appeared at clinic offices in South Richmond Monday is at risk of Ebola infection.
We immediately put the person in isolation and immediately called the health department, said Julie Bilodeau of CrossOver Ministry, a faith-based free clinic whose patient population includes many immigrants.
A sign posted on the clinic's front door Monday afternoon read: "Clinic closed for emergency.
It was not immediately clear what precautions clinic workers took in handling the patient.

I believe patient two was the nurse in Texis. I read of a local breaking report on another thread, that her boy friend is showing symptoms.
Texis is southern for Texas. Sorry folks!
She was sent back to Liberia.
Oh no.
Thank you for the update.
Why don’t I believe she was sent back? (don’t answer, rhetorical question)
How many is that just today, 7-8? This is going to destroy health care providers.
Alinsky writ large - overwhelm the system.
Post to me or FReep mail to be on/off the Bring Out Your Dead ping list.
The purpose of the Bring Out Your Dead ping list (formerly the Ebola ping list) is very early warning of emerging pandemics, as such it has a high false positive rate.
So far the false positive rate is 100%.
At some point we may well have a high mortality pandemic, and likely as not the Bring Out Your Dead threads will miss the beginning entirely.
*sigh* Such is life, and death...
Used to be our back yard. Still have family in Henrico County. The article didn’t say what hospital he was transferred to. I’m thinking MCV?
It is flu season. This is going to be a crappy month or two.
Confirmed. He has been admitted with E type symptoms.
The patient is at MCV ~ where I work. :-/
No official communications regarding this situation yet.
(sigh) I had a feeling. Our son is a rep. for a medical device company and spends A LOT of time at MCV.
Stay safe and if you have a chance keep us informed.
WRVA is reporting the patient tested negative for Ebola.
What I don’t get is how they know some don’t have Ebola right away and others take so long to assess through testing?
Good question.
I don’t know.
Maybe others on FR can provide some insight.
Good he tested negative. We still need to be so careful. I’m concerned that people will get used to hearing that someone tested negative that they’ll let their guard down.
