Prominent activist Cornel West has been handcuffed during demonstrations in Ferguson, Missouri, according to Fusion and reporters on Twitter.
West was also seen at protests Sunday night.
Los Angeles Times reporter Matt Pearce wrote on Twitter that West was joined by clergy in a march to the Ferguson police station on Monday.
The demonstration, Pearce wrote, was "highly coordinated" with "organizers clearing paths, sending clergy in waves willing to get arrested."
Protesters planned a "day of action" Monday, demanding the arrest of the police officer who shot unarmed black teenager Michael Brown.
West was reportedly handcuffed Monday afternoon and is presumed arrested:

A sparse turnout for the morning is not unexpected after last night, when over a thousand sought “refuge” from the STC police after midnight last night and marched to the SL U campus where they staged a sit-in at the clocktower plaza. They were still there at 4am. Cornel West’s back-to-the-sixties rally on Sunday afternoon resulted in the young people shouting some speakers off the stage. Last night’s college sit-in consisted of the usual black power speeches and devolved quickly into question and answer sessions, closing with some fruitcake’s diatribe about how big bad colonists stole America from the natives. (which was ironic as the blacks, in a sense, want to steal America, too).
Unfortunately for the movement, choosing to engage in racist chants and rallying on behalf of two of the worst examples for their martyrs - both gunmen, both gang members, one of which actively shot at an officer, is not exactly a winning combination to highlight grievances.

Why do I get the impression that Cornell would like a night stick and handcuffs.
Isn't he the guy who the president of Harvard told that rapper videos were not appropriate for his application for tenure at Harvard. LOL
