In the meantime...

"Dr. Daniel Varga, of the Texas Health Resource, said the worker was in full protective gear when they provided care to Duncan during his second visit to the hospital. " -- as was pointed out at the Press conference.

The commissars that run the CDC are more concerned about enforcing the one world/open borders ideology of Obama than protecting the health and well being of the American people. Science must conform to the politically correct delusions of the leader Obama. Reminiscent of Lysenko.

They are circling the wagons trying to contain the frenzy which will happen once this evolves into a full scale pandemic which could have been contained except for the PC crowd in the Oval office. Unfortunately with the long term voting sessions we have now, every day that goes by gives the dems a bit more insulation in the coming election. If election day were the only day one could vote except for absentee, they would be assured of being gone for office not so that the Bonehead contintingent is much better.

and then this happened:

Bring Out Your Dead

Post to me or FReep mail to be on/off the Bring Out Your Dead ping list.

The purpose of the “Bring Out Your Dead” ping list (formerly the “Ebola” ping list) is very early warning of emerging pandemics, as such it has a high false positive rate.

So far the false positive rate is 100%.

At some point we may well have a high mortality pandemic, and likely as not the “Bring Out Your Dead” threads will miss the beginning entirely.

*sigh* Such is life, and death...

They have been lying to the public which is not surprising. The fact is the virus is an airborne virus and you can get it just as easily as catching a cold. The virus lives outside of “bodily fluids” for 6 days. For example if you touch a doorknob that has the virus and put your fingers in your mouth you will get Ebola. Same with sneezing, if someone sneezes the virus gets expelled into the air and if you breathe it in you will get Ebola. This stuff where they are comparing it to AIDs is utter utter crap. HIV doesn’t kill you in 21 days and you can’t get HIV by touching a doorknob. We are in a big trouble. There is a major pandemic coming and we got idiots in charge.

The check is in the mail.

I promise I won’t...

We’re from the government and we’re here to help.

And now the latest:

The chance of an outbreak is remote.

The Obama administration is battling for control of the media narrative about Ebola as conditions worsen in West Africa and fears of an outbreak mount in the United States.

In other words, they are trying to cover up their criminally incompetent, inept, indecisive and ineffective response and deflect the blame anywhere except where it well and truly belongs - on them

Health officials struggle to control the media narrative about Ebola

That is possibly one of the most truthful statements about this outbreak.

Politics. They are more concerned about keeping the media (and official Washington) narrative, regardless of the validity.

‘The Obama administration is battling for control of the media narrative about Ebola as conditions worsen in West Africa and fears of an outbreak mount in the United States’

Remember Anita Dunn? Obola’s former head of Communications? She said (about the first pResidential campaign) ‘the smartest thing we did was control the Media’ (paraphrase). They are losing control of their sycophants. I guess the sycophants are awakening to the FACT that they are not protected either. Boo Hoo! Welcome to the world of Obola peons. You are no longer special when you can no longer help the pResident.

they are having a tough time ever since the idiot-in-chief proclaimed “ The chances of an Ebola outbreak in the United States are “extremely low,” Obama said.

It is very difficult to cover for lies, and even more so if it is sheer incompetency.

You know, once upon a time, not so very long ago, most of the people in America, Dem or Pub would look at this farce and say...

“We are on the verge of a global Ebola pandemic in which BILLIONS of people WILL die...and liberals can only worry about controlling the media narrative. Not to avoid a national freak out, but to preserve Democrat seats in the coming election.”

But not today. Today, that kind of Capt. Obvious thinking is actually ridiculed.

Review Richard Preston’s “The Hot Zone” and see that the public health officials will put politics over the safety of the citizenry. Much of their efforts were spent covering asses, rather than taking measures to contain the spread of a deadly incurable disease.

They sent a potentially infected person to Fairfax Hospital [which sits right beside the Capital Beltway] w/o telling the staff.

The only reason that outbreak did not spread to the general population at the time was that particular strain was only infectious to the particular species of monkeys. But pathogens have been known to jump to other species previously.

How about battling to control the damned disease instead of worrying about the media spin.

The excuse of President Abomination to not stop air traffic between West Africa and the United States is we need to be able to deliver supplies and medical help and personnel to these nations. This is true.

However, there is absolutely no reason not to limit these flights to essential needs only with no exceptions. Upon return all the passengers on the aircraft will be put in quarantine for 21 days with the exception of the aircrew. The aircrew is to remain on the aircraft until it is serviced and turned around for the flight home. This would require two Captains and First Officers.

Contact between crew and passengers on the return flight are to be minimal. Feed them sandwiches that are prepared in the USA prior to the flight to West Africa. Upon return to the USA all waste from the plane is to be treated as a bio hazard material. A few gallons of clorox in the waste water will take care of this all other waste will be bagged and burned. Wipe all surfaces down with disinfectant. Park the plane for 6 days with ground equipment keeping the temp in the aircraft elevated to about 90 degrees and with a very low humidity. Any viruses that the disinfection missed will die.

I would suggest these flights be done by the military.

Any person that is from West Africa coming in on a flight from Europe would be banned from entry.

Seal the Southern Border with Mexico to stop illegal immigration. If this is not done all the above precautions are irrelevant.

“Health officials insist the virus will be contained”

They’re lying and we all know it: they’ve lied about everything else. Gosh, and don’t you feel so sorry for the liars because of they “struggle” to control the media, uh, I mean the “narrative”? Of course, we all know this administration is putting all of it’s energy into controlling the “narrative” instead of focusing its energy on protecting our nation from potentially being destroyed by Ebola arriving from foreign shores.

Their word are hollow lies. Already, a Dallas health care worker has tested positive for Ebola who was involved with treating the infected illegal alien who snuck into the country . Quarantines and closures and shutdowns around just that one newly infected person have occurred.

The problems with things like this is that they grow exponentially. Even if Ebola grows slowly to start with, unfortunately, we ain’t seen nuttin yet. Just wait until flu and norovirus season hits to see what a completely paralyzed nation that battens down the barricades REALLY looks like as millions have symptoms that are much like how Ebola starts off!

The trenches of our medical system are woefully unprepared for something like this. And thank you, President Obola for your “fundamental transformation” when flu season hits!

Oh, and PLEASE let’s keep those West African shuttles flying back and forth, since obviously it would do no good anyway with your open borders policy. Oh, and everyone? Be sure to vote a straight Democrat ticket in November: they really DO care about you folks, ya’ll hear? After all:

“Now, I am not on the ballot this fall,” Obama stressed. “... But make no mistake: My policies are on the ballot — every single one of them.” (Including unrestricted West African air flights.)

Director Tom Frieden, health officials "know how to stop it."

Frieden knows how to monitor the disease in a village setting where the patients get so sick so quickly they have limited ability to walk around and infect others.

Two stories early on out of Africa were that patients were 'looking good' almost up to the point of death... (which means they can spread the disease to more people) and that 'health care workers' in Africa (who traditionally dealt with this disease) were getting infected.

To me that makes it feel like a more dangerous strain of the disease.
