residents within and near the monument's footprint, say they've been kept in the dark about the effects of the designation, and fear that the new status will hamper growth and fire safety. (A)bout 150 people protested Monday in front of the Pasadena office of Rep. Judy Chu (D-Monterey Park). Many said they were unsure about its potential effects on private property rights, flood control and emergency services.

I wonder how many of the dooshes that live in the area voted for the jerk? I’ll bet most of them.
Reap what ye sow.
Unless the land in question was purchased by the feds under the terms of the Constitution’s Clause 17 of Section 8 of Arcticle I, or the 5th Amendment’s eminent domain clause, Obama’s monument project is constitutionally indefensible imo.
Why didn’t Obama at least wait until after the elections to announce this unconstitutonal project?
The damage this tyrant is causing America is incalculable. All the conservatives who sat home in 2012 are now reaping what they sowed.
Obama to publicly name The United States a national monument and everyone will have to move to a new country
‘The rugged slopes and canyons are home to rare and endangered species, including Nelson’s bighorn sheep, mountain yellow-legged frogs and Santa Ana suckers.’
‘Santa Ana Suckers’?
I wonder what sort of an endangered species that could be?
Glad to see this at last. We Americans worked long and sweated hard to build this monument. All glory should go to...us?
I bet that 0bama is doing this official act so that we taxpayers can pay for his fundraising trip to Beverly Hills. The last time he was in LA he gave a speech at a trade school the morning after his Brentwood fundraisers which allowed him to bilk the taxpayers for his fundraising trip.
This affects much more than the people in the immediate area. More of the West’s public lands are being made off limits to the “little people.”
Oh great...! The Asshat better be gone by the time I get off work - HEY OBAMA!!!...no traffic tie ups on the 210!
bingo

Mountains, could have powered US. for 1000 years, say experts.
Agenda 21. And no, it’s not going to get better with the next president.
I know, and appreciate that.
But pretty soon, the jerks that voted for the jerk have to suffer before they get their heads out of their ....’s.
It is a good thing that schadenfreude isn’t fattening.
Maybe this is the October Surprise - securing landing areas for the Martians. People of Linda Rosa be ready!
First they go after the San Gabriel Gun Club (where my grandfather taught me to shoot back in the 1970’s while playing hooky from church on Sundays) and now the Burro Canyon Shooting Park. I don’t live in SoCal anymore, but this makes me very sad.
democraps and lieberals.
And just like that. A cell phone and a pen is all it takes.
A few more legacy hungry democrat presidents and the entire land mass of the USA will be a national monument
closed to everyone except politicians and their wealthy friends.
