umm, nobody needs porn to develop cynical attitudes about “love”. swap “porn” with “life” and that can do it too.

How about this. We establish a .xxx domain and force all porno onto it. That will make it trivial for the rest of us to block it.

Of all the things going on, porn isn’t on my list of things to be concerned about.

I believe pornography does debase society.

I admit when I saw several years ago that Britney Spears had accidentally? shown her privates that I looked.

After looking, I sort of wished I hadn’t.

nine out of ten children who go online (by the way, many of them just doing their homework) will view pornography

This is an interesting point. Why are children exposed to pornography? Because adults want access to pornography, and concern for children is peripheral. Why are children doing homework on the Internet? Because that's what's most convenient for adults.

Imagine a school that said, "In order to help protect our students from inappropriate material, this school will have all work done using books, paper, and pencils. Homework will be completed on paper. Research sources will be hard-copy published books and magazines. Note-taking will be done by hand."

Welcome to school in the 1980s (and all previous years), when we got much better test scores than students do today.

The only good thing is that porn is essentially 'free'

Taking the money out of it will help reduce this evil. Porn degrades women and degrades a natural sexual relationship

A savvy parent can do wonders to limit exposure (no parent can stop everything or pretty much anything).

However, this is an issue about which I simply don’t care. Adults do stupid s**t. Let ‘em. It’s also a First Amendment issue.

This is tying to carry the Pacific Ocean to the Atlantic Ocean, one bucket at a time, walking from West Coast to East Coast.

Isn’t that irony, with a capitol “I”...

The democrats are STILL hot under the collar about her...

She was a Bush plant!!! Designed to ruin the political career of their media darling at the time...

(or so some democrats believe...)

I live with my daughter and her husband. My daughter has started watching Homeland on Showtime. I never have watched HBO or Showtime or any of those movie channels. The other day she was watching it on demand and I walked into the living room and was shocked to see a man and woman in bed (on tv) with the woman naked from the waist up and the man fondling her breast. I asked my daughter why was that on TV and she said she was trying to fast forward it.

If I go to an R movie (which I don’t), I could expect to see trash like this but on TV? I don’t shock easily and I was shocked. Why are they promoting this on TV? I assume children have easy access to shows like this. And the language was pretty bad, too. At what point is it considered porn?

Has our society become so base that this is acceptable? And teaching children, young children, about homosexuality and how normal it is is okay?

We deserve God’s judgment.

As you can see from this thread, you can now be “conservative” and ok with porn. Because “conservative” means libertarian. There are enough real conservatives here to meet in a phone booth.
