The missionary wasn't even in the room at the time. If anyone has read the Hot Zone they know how contagious...and dangerous...Ebola really is.

The closer you are to the problem the greater the urgency. Look at Israel and Hamas. They've secured their border. They understand there are people out there who want to kill them.
We don't understand the threats as we aren't close to the problem. At least not yet.
