“It will take up to 48 hours to get test results back to determine if Monnig tests positive for the Ebola virus.”

Yet, the guy up chucking on a NJ plane a few days ago was cleared of infection within 15-20 mins. and the NBC journalist got his test results back in 12 hours. Some of the testing is done in Austin, TX at the State Health Dept. and get a load of this from their site - http://www.dshs.state.tx.us/lab/default.shtm -

“After hours receipt of samples is temporarily unavailable. All packages transported through a courier (FedEx, UPS, LoneStar Overnight) will be accepted during regular business hours. Specimens submitted to Greyhound Bus Station-Austin will be picked up by laboratory staff as usual. Hand-delivered samples will be accepted only during regular business hours Monday - Friday (7:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.) until further notice.”

Doesn’t that make you feel all warm and fuzzy.

Why would it take 48 hours to get the results back? I had heard the tests could take 12 hours....but 48?
