Former Defense Secretary Leon Panetta said he knew Benghazi was a “terrorist attack” from the beginning, despite the Obama administration touting the incident was a “spontaneous demonstration.”
Panetta made the comments on MSNBC on Tuesday during an interview with Andrea Mitchell.
“I didn’t have any specific information, but the fact was–when you bring grenade launchers to a demonstration, there’s something else going on,” Panetta said. “And I just, from the very beginning, sensed that this was an attack. This was a terrorist attack on our compound.”
In the secretary’s new book, Worthy Fights, he outlines his criticism of President Obama and the administration for its inaction, especially in regard to pulling U.S. troops out of Iraq and other foreign policy issues.
Panetta, who served as director of the Central Intelligence Agency under Obama before becoming secretary of defense, was particularly critical of the administration’s coverup about the Benghazi attacks.

Panetta says he believes the two CIA guys.
He claims the president said we need to do everything we can to help. They told the president there was an attack and terrorists may be involved.
Now being asked about Susan Rice and what he thought. Thought she was reciting CIA talking points, ignoring Gen Dempsey and Panetta.
Panetta immediately had no question that it was a terrorist attack.

Peon stated that he and Hillary were insisting there was an attack and a response was needed. He also stated that she had no prior knowledge that an attack was planned.

Yep, funny how Krauthammer put together another example of bad judgement and poor decisions using the Ukraine example.
Also Panetta admits to getting an order “to do everything possible” to save the Personal in Bengazi, he’s just trying to say it happened at the 5pm meeting, but that order was given at 3:40pm on the east coast, when the state department acknowledges Washington got “that phone call”.
And just what did the Defense Secretary Panetta do “to do everything possible”?

Greg Gutfeld tore Panetta apart on The Five last night. Says if Panetta knew, he should have spoken up at the time, and not held onto the knowledge until he released his book to get a profit. More or less calling out Panetta for the jerk he is.
