Before America, most nations were ruled by kings or emperors and all people were subjects. The king and his government (the state) were all powerful. The people had no power and only those rights allowed by government. The state was supreme. All people were expected to put the interests of the state and the "common good" first. Property, livelihood, family, life itself were owed to the state.

Our Founding Fathers had a better idea. America was founded on the principle (self-evident truth) that all men are created equal by their Creator (God) and endowed by Him with unalienable rights to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. No man is king. The state is not all powerful. There are no classes, no royalty, no rulers. All men are equal under the law. There's no such thing as class rights. Individual rights to life, liberty, property and the pursuit of happiness are rights endowed upon each man by God Himself and cannot be taken away without just cause and due process. Government derives its just powers at the consent of the governed. The individual is sovereign. A constitution was drawn up and ratified by the states to guarantee individual and states rights and restrict the central government to only those powers actually enumerated to it, and reserving all others to the states and the people. The people are to be governed by the rule of law established by them in the constitution.

Individual liberty, freedom of speech, freedom of religion and the free exercise thereof, rights to keep and bear arms, right to private property, right to due process, limited government, states rights, etc., were all guaranteed by the constitution.

This all worked fine for the first hundred years or so thanks to the work of wise statesmen, courts and a civil war to reaffirm and reestablish God-given equal rights for all citizens, but has been under attack by leftist revolutionaries ever since.

The left deeply resents the fact that our founders were Godly men who believed in the one true Judeo-Christian God and established our system of government and laws based on His law. They don't believe in God nor can they believe in God-given unalienable rights. They deny God and thereby deny our founding principles. Thus their crusade to destroy faith in God, destroy Christianity, destroy our Christian heritage, deny and rewrite history, destroy the Constitution, destroy Christian education, the church and even the basic Christian family unit that is the backbone of society itself.

The leftist can have none of that. As much as they cry about freedom and the non-existent rights to choose abortion and same-sex marriage, etc., they seem not to know anything at all about true God-given individual liberty or the defense of same. They're so wrapped up in their dreams of "social justice," godless socialism, saving the (unendangered) planet, etc., that they seem willing to give up all freedom in the name of world peace through international communism. Traitors. Useful idiots. How can they deny the wanton slaughter brought about such ideas all throughout history? Their rush to usher in socialism (communism) will plunge mankind back into darkness and slavery. Forgive them Father for they know not what they do.

Free Republic is here to defend our Constitution and continue the never-ending fight for the founding principles and our God-given Liberty. We are not going to roll over for the homosexual agenda or the Marxist/fascist ruling class.

No surrender, no retreat!!

Hold the line!!

Our God-given unalienable rights are not subject to debate, negotiation or compromise and that includes our religious freedom and the free exercise thereof!!

Do not give-up your right to free speech, free religion. Do not give up your guns.

Do not give up on marriage. Do not give up on borders. Do not give up on life!!

Do not give up on God or liberty.

God, family, country!!

The fight for liberty burns on in the heart of every man Created by God!!

Give me Liberty or give me death!!

In the meantime, let's keep the lights on here at Free Republic. FR is funded solely by the donations provided by the people who love and use it. We accept no advertising or corporate sponsors. We sell no merchandise or memberships. We are not a 501c and are not subsidized by the government. It's just us freedom loving citizens exercising our first amendment rights, free of any political party, government or outside influences.

So please keep those donations coming in folks. With Obama's government pulling out all stops on the road to fundamentally transforming America--from a free nation to a communist totalitarian state--we need FR now more than ever to keep it free!

Click the link above to donate by secure server or by mail to:

Free Republic - PO Box 9771 - Fresno, CA 93794

Make it a monthly if you can. We have some very generous FReeper sponsors kicking in an extra ten bucks for every new monthly signed up. We have 2 new monthlies signed up so far this quarter.

Or send in a hundred dollars or more per quarter and join I_be_tc's growing list of 300 Club patriots. I_be_tc sends in $100 per quarter and challenges 300 others to do the same. And we have received 20 donations of $100 or more so far this quarter. If we could get 300 FReepers to send in $100 per quarter, these FReepathons would complete much faster.

Thank you all very much!!

God bless.

Yes. I really love that picture.

I’m not exactly sure, but I think their mommy got killed.

The surrogate owl and human handlers probably kept them eating
until they could be adopted by other adult owls and learn to be owls.

;-)

nice Boston Harbor photo, Mariot Longwharf to the right, if you turn around from there you walk into the North End for a nice Italian meal.
