Dallas Ebola victim's stepdaughter - who took him to hospital as he was 'vomiting wildly' - is given all clear to return to work as a NURSING ASSISTANT
It can take 21 days for a patient to begin to come down with the dreaded disease from the time they first come in contact with a sufferer
Mr Duncan, 42, remains in a critical condition and is being given an experimental drug to aid his desperate struggle for life.

As I said on a similar thread, isn’t that kind of short for a quarantine when the disease has an incubation period of up to 3 weeks? What’s going on here? Are the blood tests that good that they can detect infection early, or are we being hosed?
I’m happy for her, I’m sure it’s been a horrible ordeal. But, given the way the whole thing has been handled thus far, and the obvious rush to avoid admitting any problem, I’m not entirely certain that she actually is in the clear. It’s been botched that badly. It’s going to take a few weeks with none of these people who were exposed coming down with ebola for me to believe them, quite honestly.
That is waaaay too short of time for a quarantine to be able to tell you anything.
Exactly! If it’s 3 weeks, then she is going to infect everyone.
Of course it is too soon for her to be out of the woods. She should be quarantined for three weeks. In the meantime, I would hate to have her nursing anyone I care about.
The relevant question is who gave her this so-called “all clear”? Who is in charge of determining who is no longer at risk?
My fear is that it is that idiot Clay Jenkins or one of his minions.
Yep it can sit undetected for 3 weeks. Doesn’t that make you feel good?.....(sarcasm off)
Outstanding point! The blood test can’t detect it up to 3 weeks, and they let her go..... Absolutely insane!
Even in a patient in remission,
there is sexual transmission for months.
So this is .... POLITICAL.
Exactly.
A political decision to downplay the risks because President Ebola looks bad.
If I were her manager I wouldn’t clear her for two weeks...I’d see about some type of extra sick time for her but I wouldn’t let her come back for a full 3 weeks after exposure to disease!
Two weeks R & R is definitely in order after such an harrowing ordeal, and I’m sure she’s exhausted and still upset. That’s the only sane thing to do, agreed.
Seems like she’s not convinced either!
Good for her, she gets it. Not selfish, a decent human being.
I think we have been looking at this Ebola thing all wrong. I think we should strongly encourage all our friends visiting America from West Africa to take advantage of all the wonderful tours offered in our nations capital while they are here.
From what I read, she has been quarantined for 21 days. She also never came into physical contact with him and took precautions when bagging all his towels, bedding, etc. immediately after he was taken out. When she called the ambulance she told them to wear protective clothing. Then she showered immediately and washed herself with a bleach solution. A bleach solution will kill the Ebola virus.
This lady is to be commended, IMHO.
Now, if you would like to encourage them to visit the Capitol and state representatives directly, to thank them personally for allowing free and unfettered access to America... I might be ok with that.
How? This didn't even break until last week, and the guy went to the hospital for the first time on/around Sept. 24. 24 to 30 is 7 days (including the 24th). We are now on October 7. That is only 14 days. No way she's been quarantined 3 weeks.
I think it has not been long enough for an “all clear.”
Someone has got the word come down that Ebola is to be allowed out without being obvious about it.
