Source suggests 7 weeks isn’t sufficient, it might last in semen 90+ days.

That’s interesting. Thanks
....The rate that its spreading in Africa....
The bulk of the people there live in turd world conditions. I view it as a poor man’s disease. Ebola lives in crap, urine, spit.... and as the bulk of Africa suffers low hygiene and in general low sanitary conditions it is easy to understand the rate of progression. Then, you have the cultural differences combined with illiteracy.
They are in for a tough ride.
All the equatorial turd worlders and developing nations are in for a bad ride.
Had a run in with MRSA. Got a nice shinny hip out of the deal. I.V. antibotics for 6 months. Loss of hearing in one ear.
30% of HCWs carry it in their noses, which is where they figure I got my infection from. Picked my nose, a little blood, a few days of sore nose, than BOOM!
I DO NOT consider MRSA to be anything at all compareable to Ebola for transmisibility. The facility I was getting my daily I.V. antibotics had approximately 25 patients getting I.Vs at one time and there was a constant stream of patients all day.
yeah
Post to me or FReep mail to be on/off the Bring Out Your Dead ping list.
The purpose of the Bring Out Your Dead ping list (formerly the Ebola ping list) is very early warning of emerging pandemics, as such it has a high false positive rate.
So far the false positive rate is 100%.
At some point we may well have a high mortality pandemic, and likely as not the Bring Out Your Dead threads will miss the beginning entirely.
*sigh* Such is life, and death...
Influenza, norovirus and the common cold are spread the same way..... And we know how infectious they are. It depends on the viral load in the fluids, but this is not something to be cavalier about.
Pinging Rachel Carson.
Your chickens are home.
I’ve been watching scads of video from there...and this from two years ago as well on this Ebola....and then some. They knew about this and how out of control it can go very early on when it first came about.
But worse is no matter what the world does for Africa it does not change, rather it’s become ‘a welfare nation entire’ and though known it’s own governments are corrupt they also recognize the UN is where they appeal and they do....then the hand outs flow once more.
Very sad because Africa is rich in resources....but the mindset of people and their basic sanitary and lifestyles are in the sewer and they don’t seem to have any motive to change that themselves......
Good, succinct info. Thanks.
Anything coming from the UN is absolutely as trustworthy is if it came from President Obama Umm Umm UMMM.
Somehow Nigeria shut it down pretty good but it is a big problem in those 3 small countries, Guinea, Sierra Leone and Liberia.
But Nigeria has shut it down and I’d encourage people to read up on that for themselves, those Terrorist SOBs kill a lot more in that country.
Ebola is not different from HIV.”
There was one article posted on FR about a foreign doctor using same drugs for treating Ebola that were used for HIV and apparently there was some success, at least in that case. But have heard nor seen anything about this anywhere else which doesn’t surprise me.
I already have dry skin- I use hydrogen peroxide instead of alcohol based hand cleaners.
I believe it boils down to one basic thing. Pick a nation... any nation on that continent. Once you get out onto the land you learn that tribalism is still the backbone of all the nations.
They never experienced higher levels of politics. You have to keep in mind, their culture is one where the chiefs will mess up anyone who poses a threat to their power.
Anyone with more ideas, more money, more charisma....
Yup, the great oppressors have the people preconditioned.
Hopefully with the internet they will realize how backwards they are and then act on it.....
I went in for a complicated heart surgery with the expectation of spending 6 to 8 days in the hospital. I suffered a stroke during surgery and contracted MRSA. The MRSA damage resulted in the docs having to cut into my chest 3 more times. My body was ravaged and near death for a very long time, mostly because of MRSA.
MRSA tried to kill me, resulting in 2 very long and painful months in the hospital.
So, as you can see, I most certainly agree that MRSA is no joke.
My doctor caught MRSA in his nose. He was hospitalized for a long time.
I would be sufficiently alarmed about it but not hysterical, we got that with HIV, “have sex and die” and I mean that was the way the commercials came off even if you were straight.
