I stand corrected. Did more research. CDC is out of ZMapp. The manufacturer is trying to make more asap; but none available now. Unclear when. Only had a couple of doses. Not proven; but did seem to work with two early cases.

ZMapp is a monoclonal antibody, a much more complex thing than lamivudine or brincidofovir, which are single molecules.

ZMapp is grown using genetically engineered tobacco plants. The plants are infected with a virus that has been modified to produce ZMapp when it replicates. The leaves are then ground up and the antibodies extracted.

The production cycle is a few months.

It would be better to save the money needed to deploy US troops to West Africa and instead spend it on making sure the West African docs have all the lamivudine and brincidofovir they need.

Really the only thing I don’t understand is why anyone still believes anything the CDC or media says.
