If you read the article it is the GBI that is investigating the Laurens County PD’s mis-conduct.
What specific misconduct is that?
Did they specify was that is?
BTW, does the GBI not recruit from and closely associate with those at the county levels?
BTW, I looked at this link and the other link embedded in the article, and didn't see a word about "misconduct" mentioned.
It only stated: The GBI is investigating the shooting, as is customary when officers are involved in wounding or killing a suspect.
It's why I asked you if they specifically mentioned what type of *misconduct*. Turns out it never said a word about misconduct, only the "customary investigation".

That search of some 44 hours conducted by numerous agents with the GBI resulted in not one item of contraband being found”
If the original search was invalid, the continued search looking for the non-existent contraband would be invalid, as well. They should have limited themselves to an investigation of the hit squad. And the magistrate.
Same difference. One Law Enforcement Agency investigating another law enforcement agency. Same concept as the AFL investigating the CIO in an industrial dispute.
