The world of classic rock music has lost another icon today. Paul Revere, entertainer, singer, musician, bandleader, friend, husband, father and grand man of show business died Oct. 4, 2014 at the age of 76. The news of Reveres passing came via a post on his bands official Facebook page tonight.

Back when I was about 16 a friend’s father was a big wheel at Capital Records. They were going to have a benefit raffle, raffling off a pair of Paul Revere’s boots. The raffle never happened, so my friend ended up with the boots. We passed them around the band (he was our lead singer). Each of us got to wear them for a week. It was incredibly cool!
His father was Zim Zimmerel (sp?), a big band leader back in the day in Baltimore. His son, Jamie, was our singer. He is still performing today, singing with the big band.
Rest in Peace, Mr. Revere.
LOL! I knew somebody would have a pic. On the back of his VOX bass guitar.

I remember them. American Bandstand?
We used to cover it “way back then” and I used a Fender Electric XII string for it. Fun song to do. And yes, we did the kicks along with it. :>}
=======================>
Two of my best friends and I washed cars to make money for tickets.
It was a memorable show and a memorable car wash since I fell off the roof on one car! I didn't care - I needed that money for that show!
RIP.
‘Let Me’ was another one of their hits.
Paul was also friends with the late deejay Larry “Superjock” Lujack. They went to high school together in Idaho. Lujack wrote about it in his book, also entitled ‘Superjock’.
LOL! I had a VOX “strat” for a while when they first came out with them in the mid 60’s. Possibly one of the worst guitars I ever owned. Could never keep it in tune and it didn’t really sound that good. Some of their amps on the other hand. Just for grins, I may go to ebay and see if I made a HUGE mistake getting rid of it 50 years later. :>}
LakeHills Roller Rink?
Blast from the past.
RIP Paul.
Speaking of Boston, prayers for the safety and security of the [USS] Constitution. You know how restorations can go. Kind of like the House of Cash.
'Old Ironsides' will be moving to dry-dock in 2015, and the restoration is scheduled to last three years.

RIP, Paul Revere
True!
I had a major crush on Mark Lindsay when I was in 5th or 6th grade.
I saw them in 1966. Their song “kicks” was an early anti-drug song which was sort of radical in and of itself for that time period when rock groups regularly promoted drugs as cool.
Cherokee People!
So what?
I was visiting my cousins in Montgomery, Ala back in about 1968 and we got tickets to see Paul Revere & The Raiders.
Now the opening act was just as good, it was Pigmeat Markham who was doing his comedy act of his only hit single ever, “Here Comes the Judge”. He was on Rowan & Martin’s Laugh-In and it was a signature joke.
So now who remembers Pigmeat Markham???????????
They were constantly on the local AM radio. Their music brings back memories of those days and friends I was with.
I loved watching Paul Revere and the Raiders on Where the Action Is. It was such a clever idea to shoot that program in an amusement park. May he rest in peace.
