KANSAS CITY, Mo. - KCTV5 reports an apartment building in Kansas City, MO. is being sealed off Saturday night, and a source close to KCTV5 says it's because a person who lives there is sick with something contagious. Police at the apartment building told KCTV5 that all or part of the medical facility the person was taken to is now quarantined as well. The person was taken to Rockhill Research Hospital. No one at the hospital will confirm what the person has at this time. We'll continue to follow this developing story, and bring you updates as we get them.

The CDC however, would have the latest and best equipment and right now a 24 hour capability.

Okay-that’s what I thought. Equipment seems pretty specialized and I looked up PCR which is some kind of genetic testing?

Is everyone running the same kinds of testing? I read before that some of the people tested negative but still had ebola-the antibodies weren’t there when initial testing was done, so I was getting worried.

Depends on how long it takes for a Lear jet to get from Kansas city to the lab.

Those negatives or false positives were the result of a test kit, (a chemical kit) that is known to be fritzy depending..

PCR is a dead on accurate test, however there are about 20 versions of it.

I can only assume, rightly or wrongly that they are using the right but shortest time consuming test.

It charts a dna profile. The disease is well understood to not change more than about 20% or less of it’s dna that it picks up from every infected. So, unlike the flu, which can vary widely, you can use a quickie PCR and get a valid result of the ebola signature.

Wow. I go outside and I have a flat. Now I have to take my other truck when one of these convenience stores out here in the hills opens (6) to get a can of fixaflat.

I don’t think I’ve ever been late before in 6 years.

This is from another thread, and since I am too tired to write it again I am going to copy/paste.

I wish you could view this from a 60+ year olds perspective. There was a time, for along duration, that we did not get news of a breaking nature for days. In the case of over seas news it was AT LEAST A WEEK. What that did for us, was to allow the previous news to settle, and to sort it's self out. So we did not go though these gyrations like a break dancer on steroids. Slow it down..... take it all with a grain of salt, as was the saying.. The truth of it will eventually emerge.... Please, it's important that you do this. If you don't, you will be in a constant state of flux. You will never know what is true, or false as you move from crisis to crisis to crisis...to crisis to....................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................etc!

Now I get to drink some coffee! Weird job I have, I’m waking up to go to work while everybody else is asleep or the Californians are still up partying.

Yeah, my F-150 takes a can and a half, the F-250 two full cans. $16 either tire.

I seriously doubt if all of the facility was quarantined. We'd be hearing a lot more about it. Research has always been called research. It's webpage has its history of the hospital, but they do everything hospital and clinical.

Please tell us what other illness’s have required a quarantine of an area in a hospital and a lockdown in a home that are not ebola, recently.
