With one month until Election Day, Republicans' chances for retaking the Senate and picking up seats in the House are improving.
The GOP has been buoyed by positive public polling, while red-state Democrats are still struggling to find distance from President Obama. There are bright spots and even some unexpected new targets on the map for both parties, but the overall national environment seems to have ticked a bit toward Republicans.
The GOP needs to win a net of six seats to retake control of the Senate, and Republicans seem better-positioned to do so now than they did through much of the summer.
Democrats must hold their own for a decent election night, and theyre putting their faith in their vaunted ground game for the final stretch.
Both sides say control of the upper chamber is still very much at play, and Republicans certainly arent taking a victory lap just yet.

One would certainly hope so, but I think that hope is not well founded. As the Good Book says, "As a dog returns to its vomit, so fools repeat their folly."
If Republicans take the Senate, I look for a rather quick retirement by one Dingy Harry.
Perhaps - but it would still be at least some votes/no-votes that a Dim majority will surely screw us with. A gain is a gain - that's how the Left got the power to screw us so bad; taking it one little vote/edge at a time wherever they could. If we just throw up our hands and wonder what's the use, we might as well concede to the dark side and get the hell out of any political discussion/activity.
