Same reason there was hype about E. Coli, or ISIS, or the Hale-Bopp comet in the 90’s, or any number of other things. Fear sells papers. And gets people to click on your webpage.
HIV, Ebola, H1N1 are hyped but this Ebola hype is diversion to focus on ISIS instead. Last time I heard ISIS nearing Baghdad the must be massacring people there now.
While that is true, remember this-
The virus cares not a whit about newspapers or webpages. It's only goal is to kill. If we don't intelligently protect ourselves, it will mindlessly kill us.
This is true of any of the viruses infesting our nation.
