Interested why despite the euphoric headline NFP print, a cursory glance deeper inside the payrolls report reveals weakness after weakness, with both participation plunging again and wages the worst since last summer? Here is the answer: 4 of the top 5 largest job additions in September, retail trade, leisure and hospitality, education and health and temp help, were of the lowest quality, and paying, jobs possible. So yes, America added a whole lot of minimum wage waiters, store clerks, groundskeepers and temps: truly the stuff New Normal "recoveries" are made of.

700k discouraged workers were designated as “left the work force”

Get another 2 million or so to leave the work force and we'll be at full employment.

This has been the trend for years.

Now ask yourself again why the dems are pushing for ridiculously high minimum wage changes...

Good politics for low information voters ( which means most of the minimum wage earners ).

Whether it is good economics is another matter altogether.

100% of my workplace’s new hires are part-time. Part time here is now 20 hours.

They let go of a dozen full-time staff over the past year. Seniority has been my best friend as of late.
