Would *you* seal yourself and your 13 year old child in an apartment with a known deadly virus for three weeks?
You couldn’t *make* me go back in there. I’ll quarantine myself and my family without protest... in a clean environment.
God forbid this happens to anyone of us, I will bet we would improvise personal protection, take bleach, Lysol concentrate, alcohol already present within our homes and commence our own disinfection procedures. Bagged contaminates would be thrown outside and then burned in a barrel. Ditto the mattress. Let the authorities give us a ticket for unauthorized burning. Worth the price.
Even if not 100% effective, these steps could at least limit exposure. OTOH, if even my beloved husband showed up at the door burning with fever and a communicable disease, he would refuse to enter our home for fear of passing on the contagion. He would demand I call an ambulance.As would I, if the situation was reversed. The victim showed no love for his family and no concern for anyone else.
No one involved seems to have any common sense, initiative or personal responsibility. Given an untenable situation and no assistance from authority, our choice is to defy authority in order to save our families and ourselves.
