HOUSTON, Texas -- A Dallas paramedic claimed he drove the ambulance that the US Ebola patient was transported in and that he was not contacted by anyone about the potential exposure. He claims he drove the ambulance sometime after the patient was transported. The Dallas Fire Department left the ambulance that transported Ebola patient Thomas Duncan to the hospital in service for at least 48 hours before putting it in quarantine on Wednesday. The ambulance was exposed to the Ebola virus when Duncan was transported on September 28th. “All the people in the back of the ambulance 48 hours later before they finally took the ambulance out of service,” said Dallas Paramedic Geoffrey Aklinski in a discussion on Facebook, “none of them have been contacted. None of the paramedics that were on that shift and went in the ambulance were contacted. I’ve been off three days now. No one contacted me and I was in and drove that ambulance after it was infected.”

On the “Saving Dr. Brantly” NBC special, Dr. Ribner of Emery was asked if could just flush the bodily waste, ripe with Ebola virus, down the toilet. Dr. Ribner replied that the could not do that because the water treatment facility would not be very happy with them. What they had to do was pour a sterilizing solution in the toilet and let it sit 5-10 minutes, and then he said, “we could safely flush it down.”
Have these officials even thought word one about these kinds of things? Oh, noooooo. A regular hospital will handle this just fine. Oh, we are so much more advanced than they are in Africa...
Boy, I see why people have their “bug out” gear at the back door. This is nuts.
Part of the problem is that it has been an easy life for too long. Most everything has been routine, predictable, controlled.
On Zero's part, sure, but you'd have a hard time convincing me that the people who failed to tell the ambulance techs or the nurse who didn't mention to the doctor that his patient had told her he'd been in Liberia were acting out of treasonous motives. This was just stupid.

I was just thinking about what someone else posted regarding pressure washing around the house- I pressure wash our flagstone patios every year and by the time I am done I am soaking wet head to toe.

I retract that. I read it that NONE of the firefighters were contacted. Only the ones that did the transport were contacted. Good catch!
It is. Vomit is disgusting to clean up and messy.

The only thing we really have going for us is that Ebola makes a person so freaking sick that they aren’t going anywhere.

I agree. Treasonous on those in this Administration and Barry himself. Didn’t mean the nursing staff. Who really knows if this guy did tell them he’d been in Liberia or that is some cover BS?
When I see that pressure washer, I see vomit spraying all over the place. Hopefully, he poured bleach all over the area before he started spraying it everywhere.
True. And think of the people in quarantine in the Ivy apartment complex — family members of Mr. Duncan. They are using the toilet and sinks per their normal daily routine. I wonder if any of them are symptomatic, yet?
And who is taking out their trash? What is being done with it? Is it being burned? I think not.
But there’s nothing to fear. We are in an advanced, civilized country, right?
