Patient with Ebola has family in Kannapolis

DALLAS — The first Ebola patient diagnosed in the United States has local ties to the Charlotte region.

Thomas Eric Duncan went to a Dallas emergency room late Thursday night and explained that he was visiting the U.S. from Liberia. He was sent home with antibiotics, according to his sister, Mai Wureh.

He returned two days later, after his condition worsened, and was admitted to Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital.

Duncan has family that lives in Kannapolis and they told NBC News they alerted the CDC of Duncan's condition. There is no threat locally, according to officials.

"I called CDC to get some actions taken, because I was concerned for his life and he wasn't getting the appropriate care," Duncan's nephew, Josephus Weeks, told NBC News on Wednesday night. "I feared other people might also get infected if he wasn't taken care of, and so I called them to ask them why is it a patient that might be suspected of this disease was not getting appropriate care?"

Weeks also told NBC News the CDC referred him to the Texas Department of Health and Human Services, which spoke to him and then took appropriate action.

Yup. This means Freidan’s presser was a whole lot of fiction.

And someone will OWN that hospital for sending out the ambulance crew for a likely ebola patient w/o telling them first should one of the crew get it.

Maybe even just for the mental anguish they’re going to have for the next 3 weeks.

Lots of torte with this little song and dance. Lots.

“Patient with Ebola has family in Kannapolis”

These Liberians seem to have “family” all over the country. They are everywhere and seem to continue to be imported into the U.S. in great numbers. With or without disease.

Black Anes: Yup. I just read where Patient #1 was puking wildly in front of the apartment he was visiting. Poor emt’s, ambulance driver, etc. The guy was covered in active virus. Can you imagine living in that apartment complex and knowing that you walked on that sidewalk after he spewed all over it? I don’t for a minute believe that only 80 people are being listed as in direct contact. Not for a moment.

I think another huge issue is that a lot of the Liberians in Dallas work at prisons as guards, food servers, etc. Can you imagine an entire prison filled with ebola patients? How could they be treated? ....and who would knowingly go into such a place to work treating them?

OMG. What happend to his clothes? Who cleaned up outside the apartment building? Did that person bring it home to his family? This is really bad because we ARE talking bodily fluids.

Why hasn’t Dallas been quarantined?
Why haven’t all of the airports he visited been quarantined?
It isn’t racist to invoke a quarantine; it’s smart.

Can you imagine their working in food service and sneezing and coughing in 1000 lunches during their shift?

The family called the CDC because that what the script they got from Obola’s handlers says.

It it were up to me, I’d have his family transported to a quarantine facility and then I’d burn his family’s house down, spray kerosene on the yard (where he puked) and set that on fire too. It’s cheaper to compensate (pay) the family later for the loss of their house than to suffer its presence in the neighborhood as a source of pestilence.

The game of Ebola Roulette continues...

*click* spin *click* spin *click* spin…BANG!

Eeeee-bolllll-aaaaaa ping!

Bring Out Your Dead

We’re gonna need

a bigger cart!

Post to me or FReep mail to be on/off the Bring Out Your Dead ping list.

The purpose of the “Bring Out Your Dead” ping list (formerly the “Ebola” ping list) is very early warning of emerging pandemics, as such it has a high false positive rate.

So far the false positive rate is 100%.

At some point we may well have a high mortality pandemic, and likely as not the “Bring Out Your Dead” threads will miss the beginning entirely.

*sigh* Such is life, and death...

There will be a massive cover up going on as to the number of people infected with Ebola because of the stupidity of the hospital staff. We won’t know the whole truth about any of it.

This just in from the NYT. The man KNEW he had Ebola and bought a plane ticket to get to the USA in time to be treated in a US hospital courtesy of the US taxpayers. He had assisted his landlord take infected people to the hospital in Liberia. This leads one to believe the family he stayed with in Dallas was unaware but suspected Ebola when they learned of what he had been doing in Liberia.

This is scary stuff folks.

Liberians WERE imported into the United States in great numbers.

The country was founded by freed American slaves, the Capital is named after US President James Monroe and there have been close ties between our two countries for the last 150 years or so. There are hundreds of thousands of dual Liberian-American citizens in both countries.
