Thomas Eric Duncan, the first person diagnosed with the Ebola virus in the U.S., wasn't appropriately treated for suspected infection until after his nephew personally called the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the nephew told NBC News on Wednesday night, saying he hoped "nobody else got infected because of a mistake that was made."
Health officials have acknowledged that Duncan, 42, was initially sent home from Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital in Dallas when he showed up on Sept. 26 complaining of fever and abdominal pain. He was sent home and had to return two days later in an ambulance.
That was the day "I called CDC to get some actions taken, because I was concerned for his life and he wasn't getting the appropriate care," Duncan's nephew, Josephus Weeks, told NBC News on Wednesday night. "I feared other people might also get infected if he wasn't taken care of, and so I called them to ask them why is it a patient that might be suspected of this disease was not getting appropriate care?"

So without that, he’d still be infecting hundreds of people?

Bring Out Your Dead
Were gonna need
a bigger cart!
Post to me or FReep mail to be on/off the Bring Out Your Dead ping list.
The purpose of the Bring Out Your Dead ping list (formerly the Ebola ping list) is very early warning of emerging pandemics, as such it has a high false positive rate.
So far the false positive rate is 100%.
At some point we may well have a high mortality pandemic, and likely as not the Bring Out Your Dead threads will miss the beginning entirely.
*sigh* Such is life, and death...
Only THIS administration could be THIS stupid and jayvee...
It’s the CDD now. Center for Disease Distribution.
This paints a different picture then that press conference they held today did.
Words fail me.....
This scumbag came to America knowing that he was infected and Obama and the ‘RATS let him do it.
Walking around. That’s right.
Sneezing, coughing, holding his hand up— he grabs a doorknob just before you.
So you touch your face, how many average hundreds of times a day?
And now you’re a walking Ebola bomb yourself.
I’d take this sort of comment after the fact with a grain of salt until there’s some sort of confirmation that they actually did call the CDC. I’d imagine they’re getting some pretty harsh words and possibly harsh treatment from neighbors.

Illustrative of what each of us must consider and teach our loved ones to consider in order to avoid contamination of not just ebola, ENT-D68, and any other bio-hazard introduced through the current regime's schemes.
but wait this guy shoud’ve said first he was exposed to ebola.
OMG, these people knew he had ebola.
Man, this is bad folks.
Seems that Mr. Weeks is a hero.
Harsh treatment? They deserve harsh treatment. And you will never be able to believe the Obama CDC.
Exactly....why didn’t he insist they test him for Ebola? He knew he was infected. He booked it out of that hell hole to come here for treatment.
I was pointing out that this man could have another motivation, to be saying that they called the CDC. That’s all.
There’s a 10K member Liberian community right outside of Dallas. No doubt they’ve tried to bring whatever relatives they could out of Liberia during this outbreak.
They are calling for self-turning-in for testing.. they know every relative that comes over from Liberia is a potential vector.
