Kurdistan regions Human Rights Independent Committee has revealed currently more than two thousand Yazidi and Christian women are in held by of the Islamic State (IS) militants and they are sold in Mosul.
According to the statistics that we have obtained from those women that have been freed by the IS insurgents, currently more than 2000 Yazidi and Christian women have been held by the IS militants, said Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) Human Rights Committee Director Tavga Omar.
Omar further stated that IS militants trade these women and treat them as the spoil of war to their militants.
IS militants have set $150 for each woman, Omar told BasNews.
She also revealed, IS insurgents sexually harass and rape these women and they separate elder women from the young ones.
However, Omar refused to reveal the location of these women and stating that they might transfer these women to some other places in case if their current places is revealed.
Last month, IS militants attacked and controlled Sinjar and kidnaped number of Yazidi women as the achievement of the war and they took these women to Mosul and sold them.
Since the kidnapping, there have been many efforts to free those girls, with little success.
