Last week’s People's Climate March drew 400,000 people onto the streets of Manhattan and a great deal of international attention to a subject of dire urgency. But some were skeptical about the event’s overall significance. “The march slogan was, ‘to change everything, we need everyone,’ which is telling, because it won’t change everything, because it didn’t include everyone,” wrote David Roberts of Grist. “Specifically, it won’t change American politics because it didn’t include conservatives.” True enough.
If there weren’t such a stark divide between American conservatives and almost everyone else on the question of the existence and importance of climate change — a divide that can approach 40 points on some polling questions — the political situation would be very different. So if any progress on climate change is going to be made through the American political system — apart from executive orders by Democratic presidents — it is going to have to somehow involve convincing a lot of conservatives that yes, climate change is a threat to civilization.
How do you do that? The answer has more to do with psychology than politics.
The practice of tailoring a political message to a particular group is commonplace, of course. But the climate activist community has broadly failed to understand just how differently conservatives and liberals see the world on certain issues, and, as a result, just how radically different messages targeting conservatives should look.

Conservatives will still say “No Sale” when offered a turd in exchange for freedom and civilization.

The average latte liberal would cross the street to avoid people who agree with them but are obvious kooks. (What comes to mind is somebody wearing 10 piercings and carrying a climate change sign.) Whereas I’ve met darned few conservatives I wouldn’t like to have dinner with.
Will the “just right” kind of psychology convince us that it doesn’t exist?!?!?!

If they want to make real progress on convincing skeptics of the reality of climate change, they’re going to need to go back to basics, and to relearn the distinction between hypothesis-proving techniques, like experimentation and clinical trials, and hypothesis-generating techniques, like epidemiological studies and computer modelling.
Computer modelling can never be proof of anything, no matter how much of it you do.
People who actually understand computer modelling know that. They are very careful to identify under what range of behavior computer modelling can be useful, by validating the models with experimentation, but you’ll never see one who would promise that the model’s predictions had meaning outside those carefully-validated ranges.
Climate Scientists, on the other hand, are convinced that because all their computer models give similar results, they must somehow be validating each other, when not only have they never been validated by experiment, they’ve none of them managed to successfully predict the past.
It’s absolute idiocy.

The entire truth about “Global Warming” can be summed up so easily:
1. Very wealthy individuals, corporations and governments have invested extremely heavily in “Global Warming”-related products, services and procedures, gambling that the public, convinced of the dire situation, will give up both money and freedom to keep “Global Warming” at bay.
2. There hasn’t been any “Global Warming.”
3. The public is slowly realizing there hasn’t been any “Global Warming.”
4. The very wealthy individuals, corporations and governments which have invested extremely heavily in “Global Warming” are beginning to get more than a little antsy, even throwing the occasional stink-eye at Al Gore.
5. The public MUST believe in “Global Warming” — and soon — or a whole buncha people are going to lose their shirts, and their shorts, and everything else. And they’re gonna be REAL mad.
6. Therefore, to convince the public of the horrifying danger of something that isn’t happening at all, very wealthy individuals, corporations and governments will just simply lie about it. And lie. Constantly. All the time.
These people make me laugh. The first and foremost thing they just don’t get is that “conservatives” such as myself don’t pursue or engage in conversation with Left wing environazi’s. I’m sure many of us conservatives have found ourselves inadvertently cornered by smelly liberal creep who blathers on about global warming. We shake our heads in agreement and then excuse ourselves from their presence to tend to a call of nature, or to take a phone call or to....
There’s no discussion between the two groups. Their circles of acquaintances don’t ever intersect.

Yep. It's easy to predict. For the last 100 years, when the Left fails to convince people of their bad ideas or lies, those who refuse to pretend to believe the lies are introduced to the “final solution”.

Liberals are the minority. They may pretty much own the MSM and have political machines that harvest and gin more votes to put minority leftists in office in place of candidates that represent the majority (why is it that liberals are so afraid of voter ID?), but when push comes to shove, liberals in America are still the minority.
Most Americans sneer at liberalism and the MSM. Teachers/education/students, news media, and "elected" via harvested votes office holders speak for maybe one in three Americans; two in three Americans think liberalism stinks, but nobody speaks out loud for US. Except Joe-Blow media consumers who respond in the comments' sections.

Communists along with a few environmental groups staged a “People’s Climate Rally” in Oakland, California on Sunday, September 21, in conjunction with the larger “People’s Climate March” in New York City on the same day.
Wait — did I say communists? Isn’t that a bit of an exaggeration?
