A former Food and Drug Administration chief scientist and top infectious disease specialist said that several people were exposed to the Ebola virus by the unidentified patient in Dallas, Americas first case, and its likely that many more will be infected.
Dr. Jesse L. Goodman, now a professor of medicine at Georgetown University Medical Center, said while the nation shouldnt panic, its best to prepare for the worst.
It is quite appropriate to be concerned on many fronts, he said in a statement provided to Secrets. First, it is a tragedy for the patient and family and, as well, a stress to contacts, health care workers and the community at large. Second, it appears several people were exposed before the individual was placed in isolation, and it is quite possible that one or more of his contacts will be infected, he added.
Whats more, he conceded that it was only a matter of time that the swift-killing African virus arrived in the U.S.

But the White House will put no restrictions on air travel because, like, what difference does it make if a few Americans are infected with a deadly disease that is likely to kill them? This White House has no cares about Americans. They prove it daily.
But anyone who heard Obama talk about a baby being an inconvenience knew right then that he had no love for life or the living.
Folks fail to understand the importance of what's going on! We now have Ebola IN THE WILD in the Dallas area, at least. It's in the sewage and garbage systems...and by extension the animals that frequent those systems.
AND Ebola is transmissible between animals and between animals and humans.
What we don't know is if insects can spread it...like fleas and mosquitoes and bed bugs, those that feed on blood.
Like the plague.
Even if they shut down this current small outbreak, it's likely to be back and haunt our progeny for decades, if not centuries.
Like I always said when it comes to the government: There are the things they let the public know and the things they keep the public from knowing. So if there is an Ebola patient what are the things they are not telling us about it? Especially with this administration? That’s why I predict in the coming weeks we’ll be seeing cases pop up all across the country and we’re going to have a panic on our hands, this is really going to freak people out. Let’s see if Obummer grants his “executive amnesty” then.
I don’t know, I have faith in people. Once good gets going it is not to be stopped.
If it went straight to YouTube, maybe!
What about folks who MUST fly, for a living? That would be a bit scary (scarier), now.
The following will be coming a few days before the election:
“As president it is my responsibility to protect the people of this country. Therefore, no elections will be held. It’s simply too dangerous to have millions of people standing in line with people possibly infected with the ebola virus.”
Just think of all the incompetent boobs who voted for democrats. I wish there was a way to tell who they are. Then when the SHTF we’d know who to blame.
Dr. Oz said something interesting today. He said “I’m afraid this is a trial run.”
I went to the Texas State Fair for the first time a few years ago. I always wanted to go. What a disappointment! It’s outrageously expensive and about all I saw was a bunch of new car dealers. Big Tex burned a little while after I left. And I didn’t do it.
Ebola in far away villages is one thing. In a major American city is another. This is bad!

“it was only a matter of time that the swift-killing African virus arrived in the U.S.”
Really and why is that I wonder? Europe doesn’t have it, neither does Asia or Australia as far as I know. It was confined to the African continent. If it was only a matter of time to hit the US then I guess it’s the same for any other part of the world right? TPTB and others in this country are so freaking DUMB! And I’ll bet we STILL have not restricted flights huh?
Reading about this guy’s activities and travels, I can’t come to any other conclusion that this was deliberate.
How long before it happens again?
Sure, maybe if it were simply being passed around like a cold or flu, containment MIGHT be possible, but when someone is out to deliberately infect as many as possible before he succumbs, it WILL spread and spread far.
They are not taking that into account from everything I’ve heard.
All I can hope is that anyone who is out to deliberately infect someone is not part of the group that survives. They may be betting on the fact that the survival rate is better than suicide bombing.
They CAN survive Ebola and live to do yet more terrorism. You only get one chance with a bomb vest.
You beat me to the punch. Went once...will never go again. Kids were bored to death and so were we.
Way over hyped.
I believe in original sin. People will not be good. Some may, but once this breaks into the average person’s worldview, it will be nasty
lose the borders...dah
Since it is true that Ebola is not contagious until a person is symptomatic, why does it anger you when experts provide that information?
How do you expect a virus to leave someone's blood in order to infect someone else? Do infectious agents have tiny airplanes or something? There are many bloodborne infections that are not contagious at all, many of them endemic to the US. You will never catch dengue, malaria, or chikungunya from another person--all are bloodborne diseases, and spread by mosquitoes.
Bodily fluids carrying the infection can obviously infect someone exposed to them.
Expelling bodily fluids is one of the symptoms. An asymptomatic person does not vomiting or have diarrhea; once they start doing that, they are symptomatic, by definition. If we care to anthropomorphize the virus, we can say that it makes people vomit in order to find new hosts.
This is the same sort of lie they told about AIDS in the early days.
What kind of lie was supposedly told? AIDS is far more difficult to catch than Ebola, and is spread because it manages to get from the blood into the semen. A few years ago, I had to go into a hospital room of a man who had just died of AIDS. Although I came within a few feet of him, I did not catch AIDS. That's because blood-borne viruses do not fly.
Guys, I know it’s stupid but I’m freaking out a little here. I’ve felt lightheaded and have had a moderate headache all day (I never get headaches). I woke up feeling fuzz-headed. Since I’ve gotten home from work I feel a fever coming on and I’ve got this weird puffy splotch on my thigh. It’’s like a bruise but slightly puffy and I can see like knotty purplish/brown spots underneath.
With all the weird stuff going around I’m worried. It;s not flu season just yet.
