You may not be aware of American Military might.
Remember, the Soviets spent many years battling the Afghans and left in defeat.
We won in less then 2 months.
1 American tank, coupled with the highly trained and skilled crew is worth hundreds of Soviets.

Without adequate air and AAA support, they are nothing but targets.

Are they referring to the 11th ACR’s 1st Squadron?

11th ACR is alive and well being the OpFor at Ft. Irwin.
This “Ironhorse” is a squadron from 1st Bde, 1st Cavalry Division at Ft. Hood. And mighty light on tanks for the Polish plains.
“The purpose is to be a very visible demonstration of commitment to our allies,” says Captain John Farmer, public affairs officer for the Ironhorse, formal designation of the 1st Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division.

Oh, they’re from the 1st Cav. Div. 20 does sound light for a 700 man unit. Are they mostly mech infantry?

With the Sultan in Washington, just how is any action short of a missile on Moscow going to show anything useful to anyone? Putin has all the reason in the world to disregard anything the US military does now, considering the Sultan’s less than zealous pursuit of ISIS in the ME.

There’s more friendly air support in the area than many realize except for the Russians. The Russians know it.
