Letting him go home without a diagnosis was so irresponsible considering where he had traveled....criminal negligence comes to mind.

I wouldn’t bet that the ER workers know anything about Africa and what comes from there. Except those who work at the ER who are from Africa.

Actually, all people traveling from infected areas should be quarantined before being released into the US.

You been to a ER recently? They are going to run basic tests, they are not looking for Ebola. His symptoms may have looked like something simple to treat with Antibiotics.
What they will say if symptoms continue come back or go to your primary doctor.
Have had to take my Aunt to the ER a couple of times of late and this is what they do.
