A patient in a Dallas hospital has been confirmed to have the deadly Ebola virus, the Centers for Disease Control said Tuesday.
That person has been held in "strict isolation" at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Dallas as he was evaluated for possible exposure to the virus. The CDC will decide whether it is necessary to move the patient to another facility.
This is the first-ever case of this strain of Ebola confirmed in the United States. Officials would not confirm or deny if he was a U.S. citizen, only saying he was "visiting family in the U.S."

Most unnerving is the fact they (CDC)won’t answer our questions about whether or not this person is even an American citizen or not. No mention of where he came from (just W. Africa)or when. Any word on how he got here and who authorized it if he’s a foreigner???
Telling us whether he was one of us should have been done, I don’t see a justification for refusing to tell his American audience if the guy we are talking about is American, or a foreigner.
I am thankful we live in a time when we can email and communicate with each other in minutes and tracking the people will not be difficult.
Why does the CDC own a patent on Ebola invention?

Bring Out Your Dead
Were gonna need
a bigger cart!
Post to me or FReep mail to be on/off the Bring Out Your Dead ping list.
The purpose of the Bring Out Your Dead ping list (formerly the Ebola ping list) is very early warning of emerging pandemics, as such it has a high false positive rate.
So far the false positive rate is 100%.
At some point we may well have a high mortality pandemic, and likely as not the Bring Out Your Dead threads will miss the beginning entirely.
*sigh* Such is life, and death...
A link to this thread has been posted on the Ebola Surveillance Thread
Thanks for the ping.
