Could be. Or he didn’t want to risk being quarantined and miss out on his vacation. I would have hoped that a dark-skinned foreigner speaking lousy English might have been a hint (big assumption on my part) would raise a flag - but not today. I’m trying to think of the last time I went to the hospital. I’m not sure, but I would think a name and address would be important. Although they could have given the Dallas address they were visiting.

My prayers for you and our country. As I have pointed out, it is not just the sick that will do the damage. It will also be those that are rightfully fearful of getting sick that won’t show up to work.

First the hospitals.

Then other critical areas due to fear (grocery store workers, mass transit, etc.). And then others to stay home to take care of their loved ones the best they can (power company workers, city workers, etc.).

Also local news just reported that CDC is going to interview up to 6 children and several adults tomorrow. Not sure why they are waiting or if these people are quarantined either.

Good reasoning, and I hope you are correct.

However, whereas some guy in a village in Liberia might travel 8 blocks in an entire month, a guy here can do a 40 mile commute every day. Drop the kids at school, hop on the bus with 20 other people (some coming-some going), grab a coffee downtown, elevator, lunch, bus, stop by the store, etc.

From what I heard on the radio, he was a local security guard contracted to the CDC facility in Atlanta. He was probably one of many there that day.

I hope that didn’t get leaked to a wide audience. And I hope the family is here legally. If not they may take off upon hearing that someone from U.S. government wants to talk to them.

If it gets to the point of widespread disease, I wonder how many people will ignore the symptoms so as not to risk being quarantined? “Honey - it’s just a bug - and I HAVE to finish that project at work. I’ll call the doctor next week.”
