You are EXACTLY right... and yet, shareholders in entertainment companies don’t seem to think this way.

Why does Time Warner keep shows like Bill Maher and “Girls” (with lefty poster girl Lena Dunham) on HBO season after season? They get no numbers at all, and there is no after market in syndication or on pay per view/DVD for a news show like Maher.

The answer is they use these shows to advance an agenda approved by the elite. Keeping money losers on the air in the absence of profit are undeclared campaign donations to the left.

If shareholders would start screaming about underwriting failed shows that advance a political agenda, these public companies would have to respond.

Particularly CBS shareholders. Given how the former Westinghouse decided to dump every division of their company that made something actually useful to concentrate on producing this crap.
