President Obama let the buck stop below his own pay grade when he let his intelligence advisers take the hit for underestimating ISIS on “60 Minutes,” while also acknowledging his administration overestimated the Iraqi army — statements that show poor leadership while underscoring why it was a mistake for U.S. forces to pull out of Iraq, security experts said.
“Good leaders never throw their people under the bus — they take responsibility when it’s warranted, when mistakes are made,” said Cedric Leighton, a retired Air Force veteran who held top posts at the NSA and Pentagon.
In the CBS “60 Minutes” interview that aired last night, Obama told correspondent Steve Kroft his director of national intelligence, James Clapper, acknowledged the U.S. “underestimated what had been taken place in Syria.”
“During the chaos of the Syrian civil war, where essentially you have huge swaths of the country that are completely ungoverned, they were able to reconstitute themselves and take advantage of that chaos,” Obama said of how ISIS gained power after the U.S. military and Iraq’s Sunni tribes had pushed al-Qaeda fighters “back underground” during the surge ordered by former President George W. Bush. Obama later ordered a full withdrawal after failing to negotiate a deal to keep troops in Iraq. Obama said when the U.S. withdrew from Iraq it had an intact democracy and a military that was well-equipped, but Iraq’s then-prime minister was not interested in unifying different factions.

This whopper struck a nerve in every adult out there. A raw nerve we can all relate to regardless of politics. It's like someone just cleaned the lipstick off Sophia Loren, and you just discovered you were kissing Rosie O'Donnell and liking it.
Obama knew damn well that ISIS was growing and on the march.. He helped create them!!!
Perhaps he did underestimate them.
