Ha! When I first got married (77) I met a girl from Georgia whose dad had a farm with hens.
She told us that Campbells would come thru and give them a “nickel for each dead guinea, and it didn’t matter what them guineas was dead from”
Did not eat canned soup for a long time after that.
Potted meat. People around here can’t get enough of that stuff, they gobble it with sheer delight. I took one look at the ‘potted meat bin’ in the local chicken processing plant and thanked God I had never tried it before. The beef and pork elements in it are probably no better.
The funny thing is I probably have eaten much worse, it was just in a casing, grilled and called a sausage link.
