ARLINGTON, Va. Five days into the U.S. and coalition air strikes against targets of the Islamic Levant (ISIL) inside Syria, and six weeks since the United States began flying air strikes against I Department of Defense (DoD) has yet to assign a code name to the operations.
During a briefing to reporters Sept. 25 at the Pentagon, RADM John Kirby, spokesman for the DoD, said he knew of no plans at this point to assign the operation a code name.
DoD and NATO routinely assign code names to combat operations, such as Operation Iraqi Freedom for the Iraq War from March 2003 to August 2010, and even the stability operations in Iraq from September to December 2011, Operation New Dawn. The U.S. air campaign against Libya in 2011 was called Operation Odyssey Dawn, succeeded by NATOs Operation Unified Protector. Even very short-term operations, such as Operation Praying Mantis against Iran in April 1988, often are assigned names.

Might I suggest: Operation Blowback?
Operation Sound and Fury Signifying Nothing.
Code Name “BHO SNAFU”
Operation: Ruinous Heap
Operation Enduring Majority. Shortened from Operation Enduring Democratic Senate Majority. The code name Operation Not Now Im Golfing is already in use, for the entire Obama presidency.
Operation Obomber
My suggestions would be:
Fore!
Or
Operation Smoke Screen
Operation Bush’s Fault.
How about “Operation Mulligan.”?
Operation WHAT HAPPEN?
How about FUBAR? It goes well with any aspect of bathhouse barry.
Operation Fluffy Unicorn
The posts on this thread are cracking me up! FReepers NEVER disappoint, when it comes to wit and humor :P
I could post one, but the mods would likely delete.
Operation ObamaDistract
That's already in use, for the Obama administration's overall Mideast policy. The policy for Iraq and Afghanistan is Operation Underlord.
It looks a lot like WW 3.5 to me.
Operation Camel TO’sser
