Let’s be real: He was as mobbed-up as any Congressman has ever been, and he made little effort to hide it. His late-in-life “conversion” to Clinton critic was simply a desperate attempt to cast his imminent prosecution as “political”.

I thought believe James, "Beam me Up Scotty" Traficant, to be the last of the good Democrats in Congress. During the 1990's Traficant, who was from Youngstown Ohio, was one of the few Democrats who thought Bill Clinton should have resigned over the Monica Lewinsky sexual affair, and other crimes against the country committed by Clinton. He also though Janet Reno was best fitted to be an Attorney General for the communists in China
I'm convinced that's why Democrats went after him like a rabid dog chasing down a wounded cat. Not too many Democrats make it to prison, but get on the wrong side of Bill Clinton's anger, and they will find a way to lock you up. he even crossed party lines to vote for Dennis Hastert for the Speaker.
If he did what he was charged with, I do not condone his crimes. Plus if guilty then he deserved his penalty. That being said, it always amazes me how so many Democrats, like Ted Kennedy, got away with so much more like murder and never ever spent a second in prison.
I pray his heart was with Christ when he died. RIP James, may the Lord be your saving grace for eternity.

Much too sad. The world was a lot more fun when he was in it. I hope he’s found some receptive audiences and that the hurt for his family and friends passes quickly leaving only the joys. RIP
