Rod McKuen wrote this song for William Oliver Swofford, and it was to be the last of his two hit records.

I remember his first one, about a mummy born 1,959 years previously who came back to life so he could find a copy of Kookie, Kookie. But he has the misfortune of running into into a beatnik (played by McKuen, who spells his first name backwards on the label) who prefers modern jazz.
