Right, because self-appointed “true conservatives” would rather elect, to a six-year U.S. Senate term, a liberal Democrat who support abortion-on-demand, special rights for gays, censorship of grassroots political speech, and socialist economic politics over a conservative Republican with a proven and consistent voting record in favor of life, family, free speech and economic freedom if such conservative Republican spends too many days a year in the D C area and cast a handful of sub-optimal votes over several decades. You’ve got some real smarts there. Long live Harry Reid!
Impy, how dare you question Dr. Milton Wolf’s conservative bona fides? I mean, he *said* that he was conservative. The fact that he had no record to back up his words means nothing—all that matters is that he gave speeches in which he claimed to be a conservative and a “Tea Party leader” (for a grassroots movement that, by design, has no leaders, there sure are a lot of self-appointed “Tea Party leaders” come election time). And if Wolf endorses the liberal Democrat over the conservative Republican, why, that’s no indictment of his conservatism, since Pat Roberts “has been in Washington too long” and Kansas needs “new blood” even if he will vote with Obama 95% of the time.
I saw that on Politico. If Orman's smart he'll thank Wolf for his offer but continue with his spiel that he'll caucus with whoever he thinks has the better ideas, blah, blah, blah. I think it's probably a given that he'd prefer to caucus with the Dems but dropping his 'independent' act and ommitting to one side or the other at this point could cost him.
I'm not the one down 5 or 6 points to the "liberal Democrat who support abortion-on-demand, special rights for gays, censorship of grassroots political speech, and socialist economic politics..." so I appear to have more smarts than Roberts has. Voting record aside, when a candidate goes into relection acting like the office is his by divine right and why should he have to mix with those voter creatures in order to stay in suburban Virginia anyway then don't be surprised when the voters get turned off. And especially when he had the example of what happened to Dick Lugar staring him in the face and he still set himself up for the residency issue.
You are correct
If takes Wolfe’s offer then he risks dampening rat enthusiasm, he needs rats to turn out. The crossover RINOs he needs to win are already supporting him, they don’t care if he supports Harry Reid.
Turnout will be key and the major unknown is what the unusual circumstances of this race will do to that? Under normal circumstances with the Republican way ahead in the polls you would expect the Dems and the Independents and the moderate Republicans to stay home. But now? Who knows?
Because as I told you before the polls on Kansas are notoriously wrong. There is a strong Catholic presence here in KS. Roberts will pull this out. Orman is slipping and starting to make mistakes. Pat Roberts is a smart Marine who will defeat this scum just like he did with Wolfe.
A so they're not only wrong, but notoriously wrong. Funny how this historical notoriety escaped everyone's attention in the past.
K well it was once, I admit. But it was a doozy and nobody saw it coming a real shocker.
I also admit that I am nearly dumbstruck with how we ever elected someone so evil as Sebelius, and had a killer in our midst who wantonly shed the blood of the innocent unborn children with support.
I love my state and the people here, but will be sad and surprised if we give the devil free reign here again. I thought we had turned the corner when our governor Brownback was elected. Maybe not.
But what surprises me more than anything is people like you. You seem gleeful that Pat might lose. That he has somehow put himself on the outside of our good graces because he lives in VA. Whatever. Oh well there is no point in trying to understand you and beating my head against this wall. God bless you
