Not the McCain campaign; I said the McCain/Palin campaign. Wallace and Schmidt (and probably another one or two Veep assignees) were defacto Romney operatives at that time and later, regardless who signed their paychecks. Because of what they did and which Republican Presidential contender benefitted most from what they did. Anyway, SP has indicated in the past that she thinks she was torpedoed by them.
