COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) An unarmed man shot by a South Carolina trooper during a traffic stop repeated one question through his anguished cries as he lay wounded, waiting for an ambulance: "Why did you shoot me?"
Levar Jones' painful groans and then-Trooper Sean Groubert's reply "Well you dove head first back into your car" were captured by a dashboard camera in the trooper's car.
Groubert had stopped Jones on a seatbelt violation at a Columbia gas station and fired the shots moments after asking Jones for his license

No. Cops aren’t mind readers. Thus when a cop sees a traffic infraction and pulls a car, he should just shoot whoever is in the car immediately because he can’t divine what the people in the car might do.
Im just courious..Be serious.
The FBI figures below include the majority of all police departments. The point of this reply is to point out that whites are the most likely to die while being arrested. The Obama-Holder U.S. Dept. Just Us and the race-grievance industry will of course exploit this shooting to the max vis-a-vis race more than any concern for the poor victim.
The FBI stats show that whites are more likely to die while being arrested and IMO there is no doubt that some of those deaths were the intention of the police.
What about the larger number of whites and Arrest-Related Deaths (ARD)? Why is that okay with Obama, the race-grievance industry, and the media? We never see coverage of questionable ARDs involving whites that's anything close to Ferguson.
Arrest-Related Deaths, 2003-2009 - Statistical Tables
"From 2003 through 2009, a total of 4,813 deaths were reported to the Bureau of Justice Statistics (BJS) Arrest-Related Deaths (ARD) program."
Of these, about 6 in 10 deaths (2,931) were classified as homicide by law enforcement personnel, and 4 in 10 (1,882) were attributed to other manners of death.

To me this shows that it is not a racial thing. It happens to all races. These figures however do not show those thought "murdered" by police. I have not yet located data for recent years. Why can't I find data for recent years? I do not know.. maybe the Dept of Just Us and Race-Grievance Industry don't want it known that whites are the most likely to die being arrested.
Check out the photo of that cop. Look at those cold, soulless eyes. Obviously the type who joined the police force for the sake of Authority, so that he could boss people around and legally hurt and/or kill them. He just happens to be the one who didn’t get away with it.
I think you got this one in the bag. Keep up the good work.
Oh no...let’s just shoot him and send his corpse to his wife. Then let’s pay the victim $ 100000000 because his reaching into the car would not have endangered the officer until the shotgun actually was discharged into the cop’s chest. We need a rule that says, “Until the gun actually kills you, you must not, cannot return fire.” There we go, boys.
Is it safe to discharge firearms at gas pumps?...hmmm Cop screwed up BIGTIME.
See? If you don’t wear your seat belt you can get killed.
but why do some drivers NOT keep their license ON THEIR PERSON?....Sitting on your wallet can can give you a back ache, pain in your hips and cause you to walk like a cripple if you go any further than 10 miles. Ask any chiropractor, physical therapist or doctor. I put mine in/on the console.
I’d be willing to bet that the dash cam was on long before that little clip shown. But that little segment shows all the media wants people to see, bad cop.
Did the cop run the license plate before the stop and it came back as a repeat felon, gang member, with a violent record as long as your arm? Cops run a plate before they stop anyone.
Little details like that don’t help the story the media wants to portray though, bad cop.
The cop likely did shoot to fast, but we don’t know the details of why he might have been on edge about the guy.
Law enforcement has always attracted the type of person who wants to wear a phallus/gun on their hip as proof of the masculinity they are unsure of-but the psychological screening used in the past weeded most of that type out before they ever started training, and kept those who were more motivated to assist others and prevent real crime.
I don’t know how the hiring process has changed in the last 15 or so years, but whatever it is letting in every loose cannon and giving them a gun-and making the rest of us fear being assaulted or shot for a minor traffic violation...
That is near to being something new under the sun.
Well...Think about it...Why would this be news, unless the purpose was to incite further tension???
This has to be happening a LOT more than makes the news outside the immediate area...
The insane solution that you might not be surprised about is that some would champion Black cops for black civilian areas, and White cops, for white civilian areas...
Absolutely NO interracial contact to be made till an officer of the “right” color responds to the scene...
It would only make sense to the Jesse Jackson’s and Al Sharpton’s of the world...
Nevermind the “real” effectiveness of such an asinine solution, but that would be secondary to the overall problem fomented by the race pimps in the black community...
Yeah, I already know, I’ve been called a racist well before such incidents occur...
Yawn...
BTW, the cop DID act a little bit too quick on the application of deadly force in this situation...And now he is not the only one paying for it...
If I buy something at a drive through window (or use an ATM) I don’t put my wallet back in my front pocket until I am getting out of the car.
Such a case would explain the guy not wearing his seatbelt - he normally puts it on as part of getting into the car and this time he later took it off to raise up and get his wallet out.
The conservative position (for all of you nanny state liberals on this thread) is that seatbelt laws are an unconcionable intrusion into the lives of the citizenry. On the other hand, insurance policies that are void if the customer isn’t wearing a seatbelt is legitimate.

...and get this stupid, invasive law off the books. Another SAAAAAFETY Trojan Horse, it’s nothing more than a snooper’s charter for cops.
If you are keeping your wallet in your back pocket while driving you are looking for back & hip problems.
Oddly enough, they seem to come to the defense of the side of the black person when it’s obvious the black person was in the wrong.
A case like this where the white cop was clearly in the wrong will be ignored.
I don’t know why.
no,he just needs to shoot everybody he stops for his own saftey.a sceared man with a gun will kill you.i had rather be up aganist the bravest man in the world.and most cops are afraid of their own shadow.
