Conservative filmmaker Dinesh DSouza spoke out tonight about his five-year probation and eight-month sentence to a community confinement center on Fox News. DSouza told Megyn Kelly, My faith in an independent judiciary is affirmed.
DSouza was indicted in January for campaign finance, and pled guilty in May. DSouza had suggested on multiple occasions that he was targeted for his criticisms of President Obama, a charge prosecutors strongly denied.
DSouza repeatedly said in his interview tonight that theres been an all-out attempt to put me away, and while he didnt directly say it was the Obama administration, he did note theres a pattern of this administration using the instruments of the law to go after its critics.
He told Kelly that in the community confinement center, hes going to be teaching English to new immigrants as part of his sentence.

What is a “community confinement center”?
On the order of a halfway house or rehab center.
It’s Obama Speak for a Reeducation Camp.
Will Amnesty International identify Mr. D’Souza as a political prisoner?
Obama-era retribution for exposing the generic idiocy of the Left.
He was, in short, railroaded for “idiological perversity”; i.e., being politically incorrect.
Now off to the Gulag with you.
Sounds like a Political Prisoner Detention Center
Not surprised. John Edwards did the same crime and guest what, was treated as a minor violation.
That was my question. I am guessing it is a minimum security prison, with non-violent offenders only, and possibly with daytime furlough. But that is just a guess. D’Souza seems pretty happy that he got sentenced to this place and not a more traditional prison. I suppose if I was facing the prospect of a year in federal pound-me-in-the-arse prison, I would be happy about this too. We’ll see how he happy he is after his first month.
I don’t like the selective prosecution, but OTOH I am not happy that D’Souza broke the law, It just gives ammunition to our opponents. I have no idea what he was thinking.
He shouldn’t have pled out.
I think the cost of attorneys and a protracted legal battle got him down.
By the definition you posted, “Community confinement is given for a period not exceeding six months.”
Hmmmm. D’Souza is sentenced to 8 months there. Will he have to go to Leavenworth for the last 2 months? s/off
> What is a community confinement center?
A jail
I noticed that too. I wonder if D’Souza’s lawyers will ask the judge about that at some point.
Put him away like that other film maker...
is he out of jail yet? The one whose horrendous film drove the Benghazi folks so stark raving mad???[/sarc]
Is this the new name for the FEMA Camps?
So why did you give them the opportunity, Dinesh?
Because, as he said, he was guilty.
Correct. He was clearly targeted for his outspoken criticism against Obama. The Democrats viewed this as political heresy that must be punished.
DSouza is a canary in the coal mine. In the future expect to see widespread retribution for “ideological perversity” and “internment” to political re-education camps. Its coming.
